About the Role

We are seeking a Data Engineer with 3–8 years of experience to design, build, and optimize data pipelines, ETL workflows, and large‑scale data solutions. This role requires strong SQL expertise, hands-on ETL experience, and the ability to work effectively in a consulting environment. Experience within the Energy & Utilities sector is a significant plus.


Key Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain scalable ETL pipelines and data integration processes.
  • Develop robust datasets using advanced SQL and query performance optimization.
  • Collaborate with business teams and solution architects to gather and translate data requirements.
  • Perform data validation, quality assurance, and ingestion activities.
  • Improve data pipeline performance, scalability, and reliability.
  • Support data migration efforts and system integrations (cloud and on‑prem).
  • Troubleshoot production data issues and maintain data pipeline health.
  • Document data flows, solution design, and technical specifications.
  • Contribute to best practices, engineering standards, and process improvements.

Required Qualifications

  • 3–8 years of professional Data Engineering experience.
  • Strong expertise in SQL (complex queries, performance tuning, modeling).
  • Hands-on experience with ETL tools such as Informatica, Talend, DataStage, ADF, SSIS, AWS Glue, or similar.
  • Experience building and maintaining data pipelines in cloud or on-prem environments.
  • Strong understanding of relational databases, data warehousing, and integration patterns.
  • Prior experience working in a consulting or client-facing role.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Must be local to Houston, with ability to work onsite as needed.
  • No visa sponsorship available. Candidates must be authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in the Energy & Utilities, Oil & Gas, or Power sectors.
  • Experience with cloud-native data tools (Azure Data Factory, AWS Glue, Databricks, Snowflake).
  • Knowledge of scripting languages such as Python for automation.
  • Familiarity with CI/CD workflows for data engineering.
