Position Summary
The SAP FICO Consultant is responsible for the design, configuration, customization, and support of SAP Financial Accounting (FI) and Controlling (CO) modules. This role requires strong functional expertise combined with hands-on development and enhancement experience to support business processes, improve system performance, and ensure accurate financial reporting. The consultant will work closely with business stakeholders, technical teams, and external partners to deliver scalable and compliant SAP solutions.

The SAP FICO Consultant is responsible for the design, configuration, customization, and support of SAP Financial Accounting (FI) and Controlling (CO) modules. This role requires strong functional expertise combined with hands-on development and enhancement experience to support business processes, improve system performance, and ensure accurate financial reporting. The consultant will work closely with business stakeholders, technical teams, and external partners to deliver scalable and compliant SAP solutions.
Key Responsibilities
Functional & Business Responsibilities
- Analyze business requirements and translate them into SAP FICO solutions aligned with organizational objectives
- Configure and customize SAP FI and CO modules, including but not limited to:
- General Ledger (FI-GL)
- Accounts Payable (FI-AP)
- Accounts Receivable (FI-AR)
- Asset Accounting (FI-AA)
- Cost Center Accounting (CO-CCA)
- Profit Center Accounting (CO-PCA)
- Internal Orders (CO-IO)
- Support month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes
- Ensure compliance with accounting standards, internal controls, and audit requirements
- Collaborate with finance, controlling, and business users to optimize financial processes
Development & Customization Responsibilities
- Customize forms (SmartForms, SAPscript, or Adobe Forms) and financial reports
- Develop and maintain interfaces between SAP FICO and external systems
- Debug and resolve complex functional and technical issues
- Support data migration, validation, and reconciliation activities
Project & Support Responsibilities
- Participate in SAP implementations, rollouts, upgrades, and enhancements
- Prepare functional specifications and support technical design documentation
- Perform unit testing, integration testing, and support user acceptance testing (UAT)
- Provide production support and issue resolution with defined SLAs
- Mentor junior consultants and provide knowledge transfer to business users
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related field
- 5+ years of hands-on experience as an SAP FICO Consultant
- Strong functional knowledge of SAP FI and CO modules
- Proven experience with SAP development and customization (ABAP, enhancements, reports)
- Experience with SAP ECC and/or SAP S/4HANA Finance
- Solid understanding of financial accounting principles and controlling processes
Preferred Qualifications
- SAP FICO or SAP S/4HANA Finance certification
- Experience with New GL, Universal Journal, or S/4HANA Finance transformations
- Exposure to integration with MM, SD, PP, or HR modules
- Experience working in Agile or hybrid project environments
- Strong documentation and communication skills
